It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Dolores MacDonald announces her passing on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Charles L. Legrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques, at the age of 73 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Dolores was the daughter of the late George and Nina Lomond. She was predeceased by: father and mother-in-law John and Emma MacDonald of Grand Bruit; and brothers-in-law Fred Bishop, Mount Pearl, and Stephen "Budd" Macdonald, Ramea. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories of a wonderful mother and grandmother, her loving family: devoted husband of 53 years Sidney Macdonald; sons: Gary (Jill), Mount Pearl, and David (Jackie), Port aux Basques; precious grandchildren: Brandon, Matthew, Lisa and Kayla; brothers: Gerald (Diane) Lomond, Gander, David (Maisie) Lomond, Cape Ray; sisters: Cammie Bishop and Doreen Lomond, Mount Pearl; brothers-in-law: George (Evelyn) MacDonald, Wayne MacDonald, both of Port aux Basques; sisters-in-law: Elsie (Harold) Billard, Kathleen (Wayne) Francis, La Poile, and Emily MacDonald, Ramea; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives , special friends and neighbors. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at 2:00 PM from St. James Anglican Church, Port aux Basques, with Rev. Dicks officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
