Woodrow John Pittman Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness and wonderful memories that the family of Woodrow John Pittman announce his passing at the Oshawa General Hospital, on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the age of 85 years. He leaves to mourn his five children: Terrance (Brenda) Norris Point, Janice Higgins (Robert Alteen) Corner Brook, Kenneth (Doreen) Thompson, MB, Beverly Brooks (Jeffery) Blackstock ON, Rhonda Pegels (Ronald) Courtice, ON; Grandfather to : Lori and Chevonne (Terrance), Sonya and Thatan (Janice), Jayden, Brendan and Larissa (Kenneth), Brandi, Kristy and Corey(Beverly), Benjamin and Bailey (Rhonda), Ryan(Gregory); Great grandchildren: Brooklyn and Jordan Ricketts, Emily Degrace, Maria Higgins, Jada and Kayden Fisher, Brothers: Harvey Mudge and Roland Pittman(Rita), Norris Point, NL, Sister…in-law Eva Payne, Rhoda Butt, and Jonie Pittman, Brothers-in-law Donald Pike, Clifford Pike and Lymond (Debbie) Thomas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Woodrow was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Laura; his son Gregory, his parents Frank and Susan Pittman; his brothers: Felix and Stephen Pittman; his sister Rachel Hunt and his companion Mary Hancock. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 18th at 2 pm from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with the interment to follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery, officiated by Archbishop Stewart Payne. As expressions of sympathy family flowers only, donations may be made to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Memorial Fund.
