Wilson Piercey passed away at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home on Thursday, April 18, 2013. He was born in Winterton, Trinity Bay on December 3, 1927, son of Albert and Fanny (Hefford). He will always be loved and remembered by his wife Myra, sons Bob (Janine) and Ross (Loreta), grandchildren Angele (David Mort), Ross and Erik, great granddaughters Amelie and Myra, and family and friends on both Coasts of Newfoundland as well as Tennessee. Wilson worked for Bowater's and Kruger for over 40 years, starting in the Orders Dept. and retiring as Supervisor of Shipping. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and working around the house. He was a dedicated member of the Salvation Army Temple Band and service clubs, and served as Corps Secretary. Other volunteer work included the School Board, School Tax Authority, Army Cadets and the Atlantic Co-op Board. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Monday from 10 A.M. to 12 noon with a Memorial Service to follow at 12:30; Major Calvin Fudge officiating. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by family request, memorial donations to your favorite charity are appreciated.
