It is with great sadness that the family of the late Julia Harriett Nichols (nee Oxford) announce her passing on Sunday, August 7th, 2005 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook in her 72nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Ralph, daughter Debbie (John) Cole, Deer Lake; son Donald (Veronica), Ft. McMurray; grandchildren: Jamie, Ashley, Andrew and Katherine, step-grandchildren: Leah, Gary, Alan, Raymond and Mitchell, step-great-grandchildren: Ocean Dawn and Kyla. Sisters: Margaret (Cecil) Fralic, Dorothy (Jim) Brennan, Eileen (Ted) Tipple all of Corner Brook; brothers-in-law: Reg Nichols, Corner Brook and Joseph Butt, Deer Lake. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son Dale, parents Harry and Annie Oxford and brother Gordon. Julie was a natural leader of many youth organizations which included Brownies, Girl Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Church Camps. She also spear headed Minor Hockey Moms in Deer Lake. Julie was a dear friend to many children in which she cared for, as well as many senior citizens in the Deer Lake area. Julie was an active member of her Church with over 50 years of service. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Tuesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 10th at 10:00 AM from St. Michael's and all Angels Anglican Church with Rev. John Meade officiating. Interment to follow at Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to St. Michael's and all Angels Accessibility fund, Kidney Foundation
