<p>It is with deep sadness that the family of Derek (Dick) Wayne Hefford announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility on January 29, 2014 at the age of 73 years. Dick was an employee of Corner Brook Pulp and Paper for 43 years and retired in 2002.&nbsp;Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife of 49 years, Olive (Piercey), son Derek (Joanne Fleet), daughter Susan McCulloch (Tony); his loving grandchildren: Leah and Alex Smith, Brady Griffin-Hefford and Madison Snook; father-in-law Tertius Piercey; and little Rachel Parsons; siblings: Lydia Wright, Florence Scranton, Jim (Irene), George, Iris Anderson, Judy (Dennis Dumphy), Terry (Wanda); brothers-in-law: Charlie Lilly, Stanley Piercey (Thelma) and sister-in-law Pam Piercey (Marilyn). Dick is predeceased by his parents George and Emily, mother-in-law Susie Piercey, siblings Levi and wife Jean, Tom and Gwen Lily.The family wish to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Phil Morris, the staff and nurses of Protective Care Unit and the 3<sup>rd</sup> floor south of Long Term Care Centre for their professional care and compassion. Also, gratitude to Dick&rsquo;s brother Terry for his many visits and help during his illness. Derek and Susan would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to Debbie, Lori and Pauline ("I&rsquo;s da by") from the Corner Brook Long Term Care for the encouragement, support and compassion given to our mom. As per Dick&rsquo;s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be welcoming friends, co-workers and extended family to a reception to celebrate his life on Saturday, February 1<sup>st</sup> at the Greenwood Inn and Suites between 2:00 and 4:00 pm.
