<p align="center">Mary Alice (Mazie)</p> <p align="center">Born on Wood’s Island</p> <p align="center">May 30, 1912</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Alice (Mazie) McCarthy announces her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the age of 101 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Jean (Verdun) Wells and Catherine (Frederick) Barrow, sister: Annetta Hackett, and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel, sons: Norman and Maurice, daughters: Sylvia Hickey and Stella Crane, parents: William and Caroline O’Connell (nee Hackett), brothers: Jeremiah, Michael, Maurice and John. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 6<sup>th</sup>, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Benoit’s Cove, Father Ed Terry officiating, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
