He was born October 8, 1927 to James and Grace Peddle. Ambrose was a private man who was very well known. Elected as mayor of Windsor, member of the NL House of Assembly, and member of the Canadian House of Commons. Ambrose was NL’s first ombudsman.  His survivors include his wife Bessie, son David (Madeleine), siblings Sylvia and Gerard, grandchildren Jennifer (Gent), Laura (Craig) and Michael (Nina), great grandchildren Liam and Matthew, as well as his beloved dog Winston. Visitation is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Mark’s Av., Corner Brook.
