<p><span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The family of the late Jean G. Brake wish to advise of the passing of a precious wife, mother, grandmother and the best friend anybody could wish to have, following a courageous battle with leukemia. She leaves to mourn her husband of 47 years, Stan; daughter Katherine Fancey (Sean) of Stony Plain, AB; son Warren (Jennifer Higgins) of Halifax, NS; grandchildren: Matthew Fancey, Robin Fancey, Aaron Higgins-Brake and Jeremy Higgins-Brake; brother James R. Dawe (Jeanette) of Burlington, ON; sister-in-law Elizabeth Meade and brothers-in-law William Brake (Madeline) and Freeman Brake (Maisie), along with a number of relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Warren and Edith Dawe and in-laws William and Beatrice Brake, along with many other relatives. Jean was a member of Zeta Masters of Beta Sigma Phi. She was an accomplished artist and a member of the League of Artists of Western Newfoundland. Most especially she enjoyed the outdoors and was very proud of conquering Gros Morne Mountain on 4 occasions along with most other hills and trails in the area. However her love of gardening over ruled all others with having to be reminded of darkness in the evening before tearing out one last weed. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark&rsquo;s Avenue on Friday 7-9 PM and Saturday 2-4 &amp; 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 13 at 3:00 PM from All Saints Anglican Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, donations may be made to the 4th Floor Chemo Therapy Unit or the Shriners Hospital Patient Transportation Fund or a Charity of one&rsquo;s Choice. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.</span></span></p>
