<p>It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerard Joseph Simon announce his passing on Monday, April 21st, 2014 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL at the age of 71 years. Leaving to mourn are his sons, Gerard and Charles, his daughters, Elaine (Scott) Southwell and Judy (Jamie) Rideout, also daughters, Thomasine, Judy, Sheila and Elaine living in the USA, his brother, Johnny Simon, and his sisters, Phonsaine Young, Mary (Carl) Jesso, Venita Simon and Josephine (Baxter) Colombe. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Celestine Simon, his brother, Gordon Simon, and his wife, Mary Magdelene Young. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing on Friday, April 25th, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the Church of the Assumption in Stephenville Crossing on Saturday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. with Father Edmund Comacho officiating. Interment will take place at Brook Street Cemetery, Stephenville Crossing on Monday, April 28th, at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. The family guestbook may be signed by visiting our webside <a href="http://www.fillatre.ca">www.fillatre.ca</a>. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.</p>
