It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lawrence Rubia announce his passing on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center, Stephenville Crossing, NL at the age of 78 years. He will always be remembered and loved by his wife Olivera; children: Penny (Byron) Lucas, Todd (Wanda), Jamie; grandchildren: Samone, Karissa, Stephanie, Samantha, Brandon, Travis, Jordyn, Sydney, Madison; sisters: Rita Keating, Winnie (Stan) MacFatridge; brothers: Marcel (Madonna), Roy and a large number of nieces, nephews other family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Allan & Rose Rubia; sisters: Maggie, Matilda, Corinne, Anna; brothers: Dan, Isadore, Herbert, Ray, Allan and Charlie. The family would like to thank the staff of the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center for the wonderful care they provided Lawrence over the past several years. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing on Friday, Dec. 8th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Assumption Parish, Stephenville Crossing on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Father Edmund Dantes officiating. Interment will take place following the service in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Stephenville Crossing, NL. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation.
