It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Thomas Penton announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on October 27st at the age of 79 years. He will be sadly missed by his 11 children: Madonna (Clarence) Sparkes, Point of Bay, Bernadette (Edward) O’Quinn, St. George’s, Catherine (Garry) Parsons, Brookfield, NS, Eileen (Grant) Hiscock, St. George’s, Johanna Penton, New York, USA, Thomas Jr. (Iris), Robert (Rebecca), Margeurite (Carson) White, all of Fort McMurray, AB, Andrew (Barbara) Creston, BC, Dianne (Paul) Alexander, St. George’s, and Sherri Lynn (Abraham) Poland, St. Paul’s River, QC., 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brothers: Jim (Gertie), Alonzo (Armaline), and Greg (Sheila); sisters: Nellie, Ruby (Allan) Pieroway, Elsie and Bessie (Jim) Dwyer; brothers-in-law: Robert and Henry King who resided with him during their formative years. He was predeceased by wife Ada (1997), parents: Catherine and Alonzo, son-in-law Augustine Quilty (1994); brothers: Ambrose and Leonard; sisters: Madaline, Winifred, and Elizabeth (Sis). Friends may visit St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, St. George’s on Monday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. From where the service will take place on Tuesday, October 30th at 2:00 p.m. with Father Joseph Kelly officiating. Cremation will take place following the service with internment on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Court House Rd., St. George’s. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation. The family guest book may be signed by visiting our website www.fillatre.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
