<p><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of a wonderful and loving partner, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, teacher, friend and musician, Bernard Henry Blanchard, on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Leaving behind with fond and loving memories his partner and best friend Goldie Park, sons Scott (Linda) and Shane (Tracy), Step-daughters; Pansy (Ellis), Angela (Sterling),Trudy (Robert),and Pamela. His special grandchildren, Mandy (Robbie), Shelby (Myles), Joshua, Jordan, Spencer, Lila, Peter (Jade), Steven, Julie and Emily. Precious great-grandchildren, Brayden and Paige. His brothers and sisters, Hubert (Patsy), Elwood (Lorena), Gilbert (Marie). Horace (Dale), Derek, Margaret (Robin), Madonna (Rodney). Special niece Nicole (Jamie), special Aunt Lillian Wells, special friend Linda and many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Helen of 35 years, his parents Curtis and Regina Blanchard, his mother and father in-law Douglas and Gertrude Park. Bernie was a man of many talents; he was a musician, a gardener, a fisherman, and a huge Chicago Black Hawks fan. But most of all he was a great friend and man. He was loved by everyone who knew him. The family will be receiving friends from St. James Anglican Church in Gillams, on Saturday, beginning at 3:00 pm and on Sunday, from where the funeral service will take place on Monday, June 30, at 2:00 PM. With Reverend Malcolm Palmer officiating. Cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium.
