<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">&nbsp;It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leslie Daniel Bennett announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL.&nbsp; Leslie Daniel Bennett (Benoit), an independent man of deep convictions and strong emotions who loved the outdoors, lost the battle of his life to cancer on July 31St, 2014. Leslie, originally of Flat Bay but recently of Stephenville Crossing, was predeceased by his parents, Merrill Bennett (Benoit) and Martina Compagnon, his nephew John Lee and brother-in-law Jeremiah Downey. Leslie leaves his beloved children, Martina Clarke (Darrell) and Ian (Diane), to go forward with the knowledge that they were everything to him. He also leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren, Connor, Christopher, and Sydney, of whom he spoke with great affection and love.&nbsp; Left to mourn Leslie are nine siblings whose love for him knew no bounds: Terrance (Marsha), Lorraine Downey, Nora Orndoff (Mike), William (Greta), Alphonse (Ramona), Anna Lee, Christine Avery (Francis), Marion Nelma (Courtney), and Laura (Ivan). Leslie also leaves his loving nephews and nieces for whom he always showed concern as they grew into adulthood. Donna, Paul, David, Victor, John, William, Cheryl, Sara Lea, Julia Ann, Justin, Jamie, Susan, Shirley, Nancy, Doug and David Michael will remember him fondly. Father, son, brother, grandfather, and uncle, Leslie wore many hats in his life and he will be greatly missed. May he be at peace in the heavens while keeping an eye on those left behind until they all meet again. Love now and forever. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.</span></p>
