Passed away Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident at the age of 80 years. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife and friend of 53 years Beverley “Babs” (Fifield), seven dear children: sons Hardy (Beverley) in Appleton, William (Angie) in Frederickton, daughters Marilyn (Kerry Reid), Beverley Penney (Butch Vardy), Cindy (Chad Hussey), Jean (Bain Stratton), and Joan, all of Corner Brook; three special grandchildren (Andrew Reid, Heather Reid and Riley Chaulk); only brother Hardy Miles (Bridget) of Lewisporte, sisters-in-law: Ruby Hardy, Gloria Fifield (ex-husband Lew Murphy), Lena Anderson, and a large circle of friends and relatives. Wilbert was predeceased by brothers-in-law John Hardy, Max Anderson & son-in-law Calvin Penney. Wilbert was best known for his love of the outdoors, salmon fishing and hunting with his family and long time friend Martin Humber. Granting Wilbert’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A private family service will take place in Corner Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Children’s Wish Foundation, or to the charity of ones choice.
