<p><br /><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: medium;"> <br /></span><span style="font-size: medium;"> It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late James Henley Crocker announce his peaceful passing on Monday September 1, 2014 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook in his 91st year. He was a quiet, gentle man who was ever present for his family, his church and his community. &nbsp;He was also so proud to have received the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award in 2001 for recognition of a lifetime of volunteer work. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Ruby (Batstone) with whom he shared 65 wonderful years, his children, Denise (Kaj) Hedin, Brian (May) Crocker, Vicki Crocker and daughter - in- law Heather Crocker. Also left to mourn are his dear grandchildren Caroline and James Hedin, Alex Crocker (Ashley), Alana Crocker (Josh Webb) and Shawn and Paul Crocker; sisters-in-law Cora Batstone, Edna Tilley and Annette Stafford. He was predeceased by his son, Paul, his parents James and Clara Crocker, his brother Harold, sisters Emma Shears, Bessie Young, Katie Noel and Vera Doman, sister-in-law Marjorie Sharpe and brother-in-law Earl Batstone. He also left behind a large circle of relatives and friends. Jim was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, St. John the Evangelist Church, Bell Aliant Pioneers and the church dart league. The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, September 3 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home on St. Marks Avenue. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 2 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church with the Very Reverend Baxter Park officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. No flowers by request of the family.
