<p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Lucy (Evelyn)</p> <p>    Cake</p> <p>Corner Brook, NL</p> <p>1936 - 2014</p> <p> </p> <p>It is with immense sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of the late (Lucy) Evelyn Cake on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the age of 78 years at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, surrounded by loved ones and dear friends. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her daughter, Paulette,  mother, Elva Rideout, brothers: Bruce Rideout, Austin Rideout, Mervin Rideout (Lorraine), Caywood Rideout (Dora),  sister, Linda Brake (Wayne), sisters-in-law: Rita Froude, Eileen Pierce, and Marion Penwell(George),and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred Cake (1995), father, Bruce Rideout Sr, sisters-in-law, Ivy Rideout and Karen Drake, and brother-in-law ,Clyde Pierce. Evelyn was known for her baking talents and warm demeanor. She volunteered for many years as a member of the Silver Blades Figure Skating Club executive. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday October 26, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.</p> <p>The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th, at 2:00 PM at the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street with Major Raymond Janes officiating,with the interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
