<p>Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on&nbsp;Wednesday, December 3, 2014,&nbsp;Vera Blanche Pike&nbsp;at the age of 78. Left to mourn her daughter Donna Layden (Hayward); son Ross Pike: grandchildren: Christopher (Ashley), Rebecca (Robbie) and Karen (John); great - grandchildren: Ashlea, Brendan, Chaz,&nbsp;Rachael, Amy, Elizabeth and Ariel; brothers and sisters: Allen Poole (Shirley), Norman Poole (Agatha), Kelvin Poole,&nbsp;Sarah Whalen (Jack) and Loretta Skinner (Gerard); sisters and brother-in-law: Rita Eliassen, Yvonne McDonald, Evangeline Miles, Marion Biasutti, Richard Pike (Barb) and Winnie Pike; as well she will be&nbsp;missed by many other family members and close friends including her&nbsp;furry little friend Rosie.&nbsp;Vera was predeceased by her husband Bernard Pike, June 5, 2014,&nbsp;parents Henry &amp; Laura Poole, granddaughter Usha-Lyn, sister Abigal. A special thank you to&nbsp;the doctors, nurses and staff at&nbsp;Restorative&nbsp;Care Unit, Long Term Care Facility, the Emergency Dept, ICU and Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital. We will be gathering for visitation at Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Thursday and Friday from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 am from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, Curling Street with&nbsp;Rev. Rosemarie Payne&nbsp;officiating, followed by the interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to&nbsp;the Diabetic Association&nbsp;or to a charity of one's choice.
