David Tizzard of Humber Village passed away Feb. 13, 2015.

He is survived by his wife Reta, his two daughters, Susan Tizzard of Humber Village, Karen (Jeremy) Poole of Vancouver, and his son Dean (Suzy) Tizzard of San Rafael, CA. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Simon Poole and Olin Tizzard.

Dave was born in St. John’s in 1932 and later moved to Corner Brook where he met and married Reta Green. After a successful career with the Bank of Montreal, he was the owner / operator of Thrift Mart Ltd., then senior vice president of Enterprise Newfoundland and Labrador. He was also a valued member of numerous boards and charities, but more than that he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. When not taking dogs off leashes for daily walks, he could often be found enjoying salmon fishing on his favourite river. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the doctors and nurses of the cancer clinic and palliative care ward of Western Memorial Regional Hospital.

Count your life by smiles not tears

And all throughout your lifetime, count your age by friends, not years
