<p>It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melvin Patey announce his sudden passing on Saturday, May 23rd at his home in Port Saunders, at the age of 67 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Beatrice (nee Scanlon); sons: Darcy, Tyrone (Sabrina), Cordell and Dean; grandaughter Lindy Lavers (John); brothers: Stedman (Leah) Patey, William (Alicia) Patey and Garland Patey; brothers-in-law: Patrick (Jane) Scanlon , Darius (Helen) Scanlon and John Scanlon; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Howe, Maureen (Ivan) Rumbolt, Jeanette Caines, Helen Scanlon and Bridget Scanlon.&nbsp;He was predeceased by his parents Ruth Patey and William Payne; brothers: Gerald, Clyde, Freeman, Sherlock, Melvin I and Garland I; sister Shirley (Stanley) Genneaux; brothers-in-law: Eymard Scanlon and Donald Scanlon. &nbsp;The family will receive friends on Monday, May 25th 2-4 and 7-9 pm, with a family service 7:00 pm on Monday at St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Port Saunders. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday at 2:00 pm, interment will follow at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove with Rev Marlene Harvey presiding. Arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Homes in Port au Choix. &nbsp;Friends may leave a message of condolence and sign the guestbook or leave an In Memoriam donation by visiting the website at www.fillatre.ca.</p>
