BATEMAN Clayton Lapoil, NL July 12, 1940 - November 28, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton Bateman announce his passing on Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 at the age of 67 years. Born in Lapoile, NL, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Bateman. He was also predeceased by brothers: Richard Bateman and Clyde Bateman; sister Irene Organ; mother and father-in-law Philip and Bessie Chant; brothers-in-law Iseral Thorne and Samuel Anderson. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories loving wife of 45 years, Audrey; son Glenn (Marlene), Rose Blanche; daughter Cathy Francis (Ross), Lapoile; 3 grandchildren: Tracy Trask (Terry), Jennifer Francis, both of Corner Brook and Glenda Bateman, St. John’s; brother Russell Bateman (Christine), North Sydney; sisters: Myrtle Thorne, Cole Harbour, NS, Beryl Anderson, Port Aux Basques; brother-in-law Reginald Chant (Violet), Lapoile; sisters-in-law: Charlotte Courtney, Lapoile, Shirley Ralph (Samual), Grand Bank, Nora Mavin (Thomas), Fortune, Blanche Joiner (Marty), Kanata, ON, as well as a large circle of relatives and many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday, December 1st at St. Thomas Church in Lapoile from where the Funeral Service took place on Sunday, December 2nd at 9:30 a.m. Reverend Andrew Nussey officiating. Interment followed at the Community Cemetery, Lapoile. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques.
