Reginald Leonard HUSSEY Bonne Bay, NL July 22, 1938 - December 14, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Reginald Hussey announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Friday, December 14th, 2007 at the age of 69 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 46 years, Glennis; sons: Robert (Jackie) and Randy (Heather); grandchildren: Kayla, Meagan, Daniel, Jeremiah, Josiah, Julia, also Kevin and Kayla Young; brother Eric (Elizabeth); sisters: Joan, Cynthia (Al) Lodge, Doris (Tom) Sheppard, Ruth (Cyril) Kirby, Linda (Rod) Won; mother-in-law Laura Butler; sister-in-law Marilyn (Harold) Taylor; brothers-in-law: Bill Butler (Karen), Dave Butler (Mary), as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and special friends Bobbi Jones and Kathy Hussey. Reg was predeceased by his parents Val and Jean Hussey, Deer Lake; father-in-law Reg Butler and niece Natalie Butler. Until his retirement he was an instructor at C.O.N.A., Reg was and active member of the Community which he loved. He was citizen of the year in 1974, a life time member of the Corner Brook Kinsmen Club, served on the Regional Council of Scouts Canada, a member of the West Gate Lodge for 41 years, President of the Corner Brook Branch of V.O.N., President of NL School Tax Authorities, Chairman of Humber United Church School Board and of the Bay of Islands Integrated School Board. He was also a long serving member on the Board of Directors of NAPE. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church in Deer Lake on Sunday, December 16th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Tony Newell officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Deer Lake Relay for Life Committee or the St. Paul’s United Church Fund.
