He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Millicent (nee Durdle); children: Boyd (Yvonne), Corner Brook, Alvin (Linda), Halifax, NS, Iona (Ike), Ajax, Ont. and Shawn (Lori), Cambridge, Ont.; son-in-law Lyle Payne (Doris), Cox’s Cove; grandchildren: Jolynn, Aaron (Cory), Terry (Michelle), Staci (Craig), Jennifer (Ryland), Janis (Mark), Kelly (Rodney), Marcel (Danielle), Allison (Andrew), Janelle (Andrew), Melissa (Brendon) and Megan (Tyler); 22 great-grandchildren; brothers: James (Mary), Melvin, Roland (Daisy), Freeman (Nola), Dougal (Doreen) and Hollis (Debbie); sister Cyntia (Raymond) Wilson; sister-in-law Margaret Robbins; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Pricilla, daughter Melvina Payne, sister Mildred Doucette, sister-in-law Winnifred Park. Friends may visit The Church of the Epiphany in McIvers on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charlene Laing officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, McIvers. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
