Obituary of Dellena Marie Wells
Please share a memory of Dellena Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
<p>It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Dellena Wells on Friday, November 13th, 2015, at the age of 61. Born on August 6th, 1954, in Inverness, Nova Scotia, Dellena was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Florence MacLean. Upon graduating from university, she moved to Happy Valley &ndash; Goose Bay, Labrador, in 1976 to pursue her dream of being a teacher. While residing in Labrador, Dee met the love of her life, Mal Wells, and they spent the next 36 years happily married.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dee was known for her kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family, friends, and community. Whether it was through her work as a teacher, volunteer, Liberal, or community leader, Dee spent her life helping others and she will always be remembered for her fearlessness in fighting for what she thought was right. In her personal life, Dee was known to love cooking and hosting friends at home, where endless times were spent sharing favourite stories and laughing with her loved ones. Her happiest memories were spent with her family and friends at the cottage in Cape Breton, watching the sunset with a glass of wine. She was an incredible mother and wife, and spent her life caring for her only daughter, Robyn. Dee unknowingly spent her last weeks taking care of her daughter in Calgary, spending time with family and friends in Nova Scotia, and celebrating with her friends at home in Labrador. Dee was taken from us suddenly, but her impact on the community will be everlasting.&nbsp; May we never forget your warm heart, your laughter, and your love.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Dee is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mal; daughter Robyn Wells and future son-in-law GianCarlo Oddone; siblings Andrea (DJ), Lloyd (Julie), Margaret-Ann, Dannie (Sandra), Edmund; nephews and nieces Calum (Helen), Kelsey, Alex, Cherie (Roy), Tanya (Frank), Bruce, Andrew (Briagha), Brenna (Brandon), Amber, Aaron (Ania), Christian; many grandnieces and nephews; brother-in-law Robert (Di) and sons Daniel and Jeremy (Kat); sister-in-law Patricia and son Thomas; and numerous friends who became her beloved family in Goose Bay, Labrador. She was predeceased by parents Alexander and Florence MacLean in Inverness, Cape Breton, and father and mother-in-law Robert and Edna Wells in Scarborough, England.</p>
