<p>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Grace Sheppard at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 70. After a two and a half year battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family.</p>
<p>Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband Harold of 51 years; her three children, Murray (Beverley Kendell), Daphne (Brian) Kendell and Timothy; four grandchildren, Candace (Jeff) Summers, Samantha, Joshua and Stephanie; two great grandchildren Zachary and Alex Summers; brothers and sisters Lily Perry, Fredrick (Olive Stagg) and Neil (Margaret); brothers and sisters- in- law Margaret Collett, Nora Collett, Robert Brown (Judy), Florence (Garfield) Hickman, Dorothy Byrne, Catherine (Norman) Bourgeois, Roy (Madonna) Sheppard, George (Hazel) Sheppard, Barbara (Terry) Gilbert, Marina Sheppard and Ivan Sheppard; as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, especially Lucy Sheehan. She was predeceased by her parents, Neil and Alice Collett, brothers Edward, Douglas and sister Effie Brown; brothers in law William Perry, Gerald Byrne, Gerald Sheppard and Eric Sheppard.</p>
<p>Our family especially thanks the staff of the Palliative Care team at Western Memorial, who provided Grace with wonderful care during her last three weeks of life. Their kindness and overwhelming support will never be forgotten. Also a special thank you to her home care workers for their assistance over the last two years.</p>
<p>Cremation will be taking place at the Humber Valley Crematorium. Family and friends may visit Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark&rsquo;s Avenue, on Wednesday from 12:30 to 2:00pm. Funeral services will follow immediately after, with Reverend Nelson Chatman officiating.</p>
