<p align="center"><strong><em>Rufus Chaulk</em></strong></p> <p align="center"><strong><em>August 09, 1928 - February 22, 2016</em></strong></p> <p align="center"><strong><em> </em></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><em>It is with heavy hearts and great sadness the family of the late Rufus Chaulk announce his passing at Western Regional Memorial Hospital at age of 87. He leaves to mourn his wife of 65 years, Sarah. His children; Jocelyn (Anthony Thurston), Barbara, Brian (Karen Brown). Grand children; Amelia, Beth (Brad Gooderham), Victoria (Darcy Kairys), Dorian (Jason Fitzgerald), Gillian, Katherine, Tristan (Kristen Chambers). Great-grand children; Jackson Dinsdale, Robbie Gooderham. Good friends; Donald Hayes, Evelyn Parrott. His sister; Ethel Tucker. His four legged, furry buddy; Charlie. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Flora and brother, Arthur. </em></p> <p><em> </em></p> <p><em>Born in Elliston, NL, Rufus had a varied career, first serving in the military and in the Korean War. Then as a teacher in Indian Islands, Frederickton & Frenchman’s Cove, postmaster in Grand Bank and finally as a power engineer in Labrador City. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and a loyal friend. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rufus can be graciously made to the SPCA.  In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place, a celebration of Rufus’s life will be held at a later date. </em></p> <p> </p> <p align="center"><strong><em>The words of Nelson Mandella characterized him well:</em></strong></p> <p align="center"><strong><em>"A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination."</em></strong></p> <p><em> </em></p>
