<p>It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marilyn Mary Borden announce her passing at the Western Memorial Hospital in her 70<sup>th</sup> year, after a long and stubborn battle with cancer.She leaves to mourn her husband Fraser; sisters: Barbara&nbsp;O&rsquo;Blenis, Corner Brook, Elaine Graham, Halifax, NS; brothers: Isaac (Rose), Benoits Cove and John, Corner Brook; sisters-in-law: Judith Vinton (Charles), San Antonio, Texas, Donna Cox (Charles), Ottawa, Sharon Borden, St. John&rsquo;s, Lois Randell, Steady Brook; brother &ndash;in-law Kevin Borden, Corner Brook, as well a wide circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She will be missed by her special friends Assumpta Roche, Linda Ricketts, Glenda Beales and her shadow J. &nbsp;Marilyn was predeceased by her mother Ada George and her father John Joseph George.</p>
<p>&nbsp;The family would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses who worked tirelessly to try and stem the course of the disease and to make her comfortable in her last hours. Special thank you to Doctors Sparrow, Dunn and Lafferty and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit and the Chemotherapy Unit at Western Memorial Hospital.</p>
<p>&nbsp;Friends may visit Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home 218 Curling Street Thursday from 2-4 and &nbsp; &nbsp; 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will held Friday, March 4<sup>th</sup> at 10:30 am from Sacred Heart Church, Curling Street with Father Terry Boland officiating. In keeping with her wishes cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Hospital.&nbsp;</p>
