It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Walter Power announce his passing on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the age of 79. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years Margaret; 9 children: Elizabeth Jesso (Eric), Theresa Sheppard (Christopher), Gerald Power jr.(Lorraine), Benoits Cove, Raymond Power (Rose), ON, Bill Power, Benoits Cove, Fred Power (Debbie), Frenchmans Cove, Cathy Butt (Paul), Mt. Moriah, John Power (Karen), ON and Roxanna Hansen (Flemming), Mt. Pearl; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brother James Power (Dot), ON; sisters-in-law: Theresa Power, Elizabeth Pennell (Jim), Anne O’Keough (Bill), as well as a large number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Loretta Young, brothers Patrick & Raymond. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 5th at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea, Benoits Cove Father Bernard Buckle officiating, followed by the interment at the Church Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home 218 Curling Street Thursday & Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
