It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rebecca Catherine Pennell announce her passing on Wednesday January 2nd, 2008 at the Western memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 77. She will be sadly missed by her children: 1 son Ellis Park (Pauline), Smithville, ON, 3 daughters Ruth Sheppard (Myles), Barbara Youden (Freddy) Lark Harbour, Sharon Pennell, Kelowna, BC; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 1 brother John Park (Ruby) of summerford, NL; special brother & sister-in-law Ralph & Dossie Pennell; as well as 3 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law and a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Special caregivers Beverly Connolly and Judy Lidstone. She was predeceased by her husband Roland Pennell 1989, grandson Brad Park 2006, parents, 3 sisters & 3 brothers. The family will be receiving friends at St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday f 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. followed by the funeral service Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating, with the interment at the Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church.
