It is with heavy hearts we announce that Eva (Hardy) Anderson died on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the age of 78 years, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She will be deeply missed by her surviving children: Donnie (Wanda), Rose Blanche, NL; Theresa Corsano (Gary), Sydney, NS; Greg (Doreen), St. Jones Within, NL; and Andrea, Sydney, NS; grandchildren: Glenda (Mark), Juan, Tyson (Katie), Bréagh, Natasha, Kayla and Gregory; as well as three great-grandchildren: Vinny, Isaac and Valencia. She is also survived by brothers: Edwin (Annie), Austin (Judy) and Melvin (Sheila); sisters: Daphne (Gerry), Amelia (Jim) and Donna (Gary); brother-in-law Aubrey; sisters-in-law: Elsie (Bob), Dorothy and Lorraine; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years Don, her precious children Paul and Corey, parents Edwin and Theresa Hardy, parents-in-law Edward and Matilda Anderson, brothers Wilfred and Jim, brothers-in-law Matthew, Ted, Jack and George, sisters-in-law Lena, Susan and Maude. Eva was born in North Sydney, NS, moved to Rose Blanche, NL at the age of seven, and made Burgeo her home when she became a young lady working as a cook at Burgeo Cottage Hospital. She worked there until she married, and from that time on, her life was dedicated to her family. She was a life-long member of her church and for many years sang in the choir. When she wasn’t cooking or cleaning, you could find her in her garden using the talents of her green thumb. She loved her time with her family and friends and especially her boating excursions to Connoire Bay. She cherished her grandchildren, whom she held very close to her heart. The family would like to thank the phenomenal staff at Corner Brook LTC (3 South) for taking such wonderful care of our mother and being her family, over the last number of years. Your kindness will never be forgotten! Friends may visit St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Burgeo on Friday 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 1-2 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Elsie Rose officiating. Interment to follow at the Burgeo Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Anglican Church Women (ACW) of Burgeo, the Alzheimer’s Society, or charity of your choice.
