<p>It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Wilbert Pye Halfyard announce his passing on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 90 years. He passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving family man and friend to many and will be sadly missed by all. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters: Joan (John) Giles, Joyce Curran, Joy (Terry) Raike and Glenda (Robert) Rodway; sons: Heber (Paula) Halfyard and Shawn Halfyard; daughter-in-law Jane Halfyard; grandchildren: Kimberly (Jason), Connie (Andre), Jerry (Carla), John (Denise), Cathy (Kaywood), Janine (Josh), Brenda (Jason), Julia (Tomek), Bryan (Katlyn), Erica, Ian, Johnathon (Joni) and Jeremy (Maxine); great-grandchildren: Mandy, Hannah, Nathan, Jordan, Sophia, Dan, Samuel, Oswald, Michael, Allison, Maisy, Patrick, Brandon, Kenzie, Jameson, Ciarra and Alexis; sisters: Mildred Caines, Julia Moore and Nina Gallant; brothers: Douglas Halfyard and Barrett (Jeanette) Halfyard; brother-in-law James Hawkins; as well as a large circle of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Rita, 1996, son Terry, 2006, parents Caroline and Henry, brother Heber, sisters Mary, Annetta, Emma, Laura and Agnes, son-in-law Leslie Patey, brothers-in-law Raymond Caines, James Moore and Eloyd Gallant, sister-in-law Muriel Halfyard. Friends may visit Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark&rsquo;s Avenue on Tuesday and Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 &amp; 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark&rsquo;s Avenue with Rev. Wendy Lowden officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one&rsquo;s choice.
