ERIC LESLIE BRAKE Meadows, NL March 20th, 1933 - January 8th, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric Brake announce his passing on Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 at his family residence, Meadows at the age of 74 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 36 years Barbara Jean (nee Rowe), sisters: Jean Buckingham, Corner Brook and Marcedus (Allan) Castle, Texas; sister-in-law Frances Brake, Meadows; nieces and nephews: Norma Powell (Joe), Warwick Buckingham (Barbara), John Buckingham (Sherry), Jason Buckingham (Roxanne), Cynthia Park (Calvin), Maureen Blanchard (Jordy), Sheila Tucker (Walter), Lisa Eckert (Joe), Blaine Castle, Mark Castle and Paul Castle. As well as a large circle of great-nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Ethel Brake, brother James Brake and brother-in-law Ambrose Buckingham Jr. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook on Wednesday and Thursday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11th at 2:00 PM from The Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist, Main Street with The Very Rev. Michael Rice and Archbishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. John The Evangelist Lighting The Way Campaign or to a Charity of One’s Choice.
