<p>With heavy hearts, the family of 104 year-old Julia MAUDE Boone announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital.&nbsp; Maude was born in Norris Point on June 1, 1912, to Joseph and Jessie Laing.&nbsp; She was one of the middle of twelve children and the last of the family members to pass. Maude lived a wonderful life surrounded by immediate family, relatives, and friends and she was cared for in her home by her loving daughter Margaret. &nbsp;She was predeceased by her husband and her best friend, Fred Boone (1973), her two loving sons, Ronald Boone (1967) and Leonard Boone (1984) and her loving daughter Phyllis March (2011) and her caring daughter-in-law Violet (2002), wife of Ronald and great-granddaughter Sara March (2014). She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Margaret Batten (Austin) and their children Alan (Sandra) and Rodney (Joanne); son-in-law Howard March (Phyllis) and their children Glenda (Ray), Joanne (Glen), Julia (Glenn), Janet (Francois), Fred (Bonnie), Shawn (Janice); Ronald &amp; Vi Boone&rsquo;s children Debbie, Sandra (Kevin), and Wayne; daughter-in-law Shirley Fraser (Leonard) and children Brenda (Jim), Rick (Alice) and Darlene (Jay); and her 32 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held at Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home, St. Mark&rsquo;s Avenue, on Friday, August 19, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.&nbsp; Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, at 11am at First United Church, Park Street with Rev. Harry Whitehorne officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.&nbsp; A reception will be catered by the UCW in the church hall following the interment. Special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit and 3B of WMRH and to the wonderful long-term health care providers, Theresa and Rosie, and to all family and friends for bringing joy to nan every day. In lieu of flowers (due to allergies), expressions of sympathy may be made in donation to the NL Lung Association or to the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
