WALTER BAGGS 1934-2006 Burnt Islands, NL Passed away at his residence in Burnt Islands on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006, Walter Baggs at the age of 71 years. Born in Dog Cove, NL, he was the son of the late James and Deborah Baggs. He is predeceased by brothers: Charlie, Hughie and John Baggs; sisters: Sarah Baggs and Elizabeth Strickland. He leaves to mourn with loving memories his beloved wife Catherine of 45 years; five sons: Edward (Carolann), Isle aux Morts, Walter (Pamela), Jim (Brenda), Mike (Tracy), all of Burnt Islands, Sidney, Cambridge, ON; two daughters: Queenie Hatcher (Lloyd), Burnt Islands, Minnie Munden (Rod), Cambridge, ON; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Henry Lushman (Gladys), Stephenville, Pat Lushman (Donna), St. John's; sisters-in-law: Annie Baggs, Montreal, PQ, Minnie Young, Marjorie MacDonald (Keith), Burgeo, Bernice Wiseman (Harry), Bloomfield, Jacqueline Young (Norman), Deer Lake, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation took place at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, from where the funeral service was held on Saturday, January 7th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend H. Fudge officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Walter
