STRICKLAND Jerry Holmans Port Aux Basques, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jerry Strickland, age 49 announce his passing on Saturday, January 19th, 2008 at the Charles LeGrow Health Centre, after a brief illness with cancer. Born in Port Aux Basques, NL, he was the son of the late Cecil and Sarah (nee: Holmans) Strickland. He was employed with Fisheries Products International for approximately 27 years. He is survived by his children: April O’Quinn, Calgary AB, Brett, Karlie and Brea Strickland, Lansdowne ON; his ex-wife Marianne Strickland; brothers: Arthur (Ella), Isle aux Morte, Robert (Donna), Bridgewater, NS, Rex (Tammy), Port Aux Basques, Scott (Karen), Lower Sackville NS, Mike (Darnise), Kingston, NS; sisters: Frances Hibbs (Richard Samms), Burlington ON, Barbara (George Phelan), Annapolis Valley NS, Dorcas (Wendell Geddes), Dartmouth NS, Elsie (Benjamin Wells), Isle aux Morte; sisters-in-law: Jean Strickland, Blue Rocks NS, and Bertha Strickland, Port Aux Basques, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and special friend Marina Gilliam, Port Aux Basques. He was predeceased by brothers Stanley and Philip “Dom” and sister Linda. Friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Sunday and Monday. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, January 22nd at 2:00 pm from St. James Anglican Church with interment following at the Anglican Cemetery. Reverend Fudge officiating.
