Obituary of Clyde Douglas Brewer

<p><span style="font-family: Calibri;">It is with deepest regret that we share that <strong>Clyde Douglas Brewer</strong>, St. George&rsquo;s, NL, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2017. &nbsp;Clyde was born in Halifax, NS on January 10, 1942&nbsp;and lived for many years in Pinehurst, NS. He is survived by his&nbsp;loving wife Jessie Nova Brewer (nee Nicholson), a daughter Nova Dawn MacKenzie Oulton (Victor), a grandson Wyatt Douglas Oulton and his partner Ella Peck. and&nbsp;sisters Karen Morris, Verena Royle, and Pat Burnstall. &nbsp;He was predeceased by his parents John Douglas Brewer and Verena Pearl (nee Banfield), and his sister Gail Rosborough.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Clyde was a master carpenter and owner of Maritime Construction Ltd. He built and restored many homes in the Halifax area.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Clyde&nbsp;was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.&nbsp; For many years he spent his summers at his cabin in Ecum Secum, NS. He was a member of the Bridgewater Rifle and Handgun Club.&nbsp; Also, a&nbsp;member of the</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Hillcrest Masonic Lodge in New Germany, NS, he&nbsp;was a Past Master, a&nbsp;Past General Director of Ceremonies and a recipient of&nbsp;the Masonic Lewis Jewel.&nbsp; One of Clyde&rsquo;s favorite pastimes with his grandson Wyatt was bringing home Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner, but eating an extra helping before they got home. Clyde loved spending time with family and friends (especially his Breakfast Buddies), sharing&nbsp;good laugh, and telling stories (some of them stretched a bit).&nbsp; Clyde will be sorely missed by all the people who loved him for his generosity and kindness and for his large, large laugh. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Calibri;">A celebration of Clyde&rsquo;s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, St. George&rsquo;s, NL on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A celebration in Nova Scotia will take place at a later date. </span></p>
