<p align="center"><span lang="EN-CA">Isla Marie Short</span></p> <p align="center"><span lang="EN-CA">Deer Lake, NL</span></p> <p align="center"><span lang="EN-CA">April 28, 2014 – November 1, 2017</span></p> <p><span lang="EN-CA">It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isla Short announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Janeway Children’s Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. In her three and a half years on earth, Isla made a huge, unforgettable impact on so many as she braved every step of her cancer journey with a smile and always with a joke. She is predeceased by her great grandparents Stewart and Sarah Wight, Raymond and Helen Smith, Benjamin and Minnie Denney and special friend Mr. Granter. Left to celebrate her life are her mom and dad: Sarah and Michael Short; her best four-legged friend Ryder; grandparents: Paul and Karen Wight, Melvin and Maxine Short; great-grandparents: Roger and Gertie Short; uncles and aunts: Michael (Kelsey) Wight, Michelle (Dan) Bursey, Melissa (Troy) Rumbolt; cousins Maxwell, Samara, Charlotte and Frankie; special friends Derek and Doreen Chaulk, Paula and Steve Tilley and many beautiful friends who are like family that made an impact on her life. Special thank you to the entire Janeway Team including our beautiful nurses on J4 Medicine and Medical Day Care including Gale Roberts, Dr. Bowes, Dr. Goodyear, Dr. Moorehead, Dr. Hodder and many other health care team members including all of her pediatric residents, her physiotherapist Shawna, her buddy Barry and last but certainly not least in Isla’s eyes, the kitchen staff. Visitation and Celebration of Life will take place at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church with visitation on Saturday November 4<sup>th</sup> from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and the celebration of life on Sunday, November 5<sup>th</sup> at 2 p.m. with Majors Wayne and Betty-Ann Pike officiating. Interment to follow at Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight's Road. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Dr. Jack Hand Legacy Foundation which gives back directly to families whose children are undergoing cancer treatment.
