George Young Corner Brook, NL 1929 - 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Young announce his passing on Wednesday, February 20th, 2008 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife, Marcella; children: June (Carl) Vaters, Medicine Hat, AB, Linda (Melvin) Hindy, Corner Brook, George Jr. (Gloria) Young, Gander, Tony (Joanne) Young, Debbie (Frank) Matchen, David (Debbie) Young, Calgary, AB and Mike (Tammy) Young, Corner Brook; grandchildren: Jeff and Christine Vaters, Jennifer and Andrew Hindy, Sherry and Shawn Young, Nicholas Young, Sheldon and Nicole Young, Frank Jr., Mark and Jason Matchen; as well a great grandchildren; brothers: Curtis, Michael and Millage Young; step-brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, special friends: Gerald and Vera Preston, Corner Brook, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, Alfred and Josephine Young. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at 10:30 a.m. Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Daffodil Place.
