Passed peacefully away on Friday, October 8th, 2004 at the O'Connell Centre in Corner Brook, Joyce Pollis, at the age of 85. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughter Kathleen Pittman (Ken), St. John's, granddaughters, Erika Pittman (Rob Collins), St. John's and Katherine Pittman, Halifax, brothers, Duncan Nichols (Mabel) and Bert Nichols, all of Deer Lake, sister, Gladys Melvin, Grand Falls, foster brother, Eric Hammond (Brenda), England, also a large number of dear nieces, nephews and a group of special friends too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her husband, James Pollis, sister Kathleen Lidstone and parents Warren and Elsie Nichols. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday, October 11th, at 10:30 a.m. from Most Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Cathedral, officiated by Father Gordon Grace. Interment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
