It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hilda Hynes announce her passing at Western Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 7th, 2006 at the age of 82 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her 7 sons: Don (Edna), Matthew (Donna), Port Hawkesbury, NS, Howard, Glenn (Kim), Benoit's Cove, Greg (Debbie), Colin (Felita), Roland, Edmonton, AB; 5 daughters: Doreen (Fred Rumbolt), Elaine Pennell, Marion (Walt Gallant), Nancy (Darrin O'Quinn), Benoit's Cove, Catherine (Herbie Jewers), Mulgrave, NS; 19 grandchildren: Pamela, Sheldon, Kelly, Sandy, Dion, Tony, Tiffany, Tanya, Krista, Kathy, Sara, Scott, Kyle, Allison, Emily, Grayson, Zachary, Nigel and Gordon; 9 great-grandchildren: Aiden, Renee, Mackenzie, Marlow, Hannah, Abigail, Summer, Campbell and Matthew; 3 sisters: Margaret (Charles Tucker), Clarenville, Marion Evoy, Josephine Evoy, St. John's; sisters-in-law: Rose (Clayton Short), Mary Companion (Ed King); brothers-in-law: Ray (Marion) Hynes, Joe (Margaret) Hynes, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Peter (1981); son Leo (1999); infant son Robert (1964); grandsons: Elliot (2004), Ryan (1996), Gregory (1977); son-in-law Sandy Pennell (2003); parents Catherine (1959) and Matthew (1970); brother Michael; brothers-in-law: Albert and William; sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Mary; mother and father-in-law Sarah and Leo Hynes. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Service of Remembrance will take place from Our Lady Star of The Sea, Benoit's Cove on Monday, April 10th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
