Graham Warren BLUNDON Deer Lake, NL February 19, 1945 - March 13, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Graham Blundon announce his passing. Graham, a well known educator in Deer Lake, departed this life on Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, after losing his battle with cancer at the age of 63. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Ruth; children: Carl (Marilyn), Kelligrews, CBS, Scott (Nicole), Paradise, Sandi Stewart (Paul), Clarenville, and Karen Blundon, Baie Verte; 4 grandchildren: Kelly, Katlyn, Abigayle, and Jacob; 2 sisters: Eleanor Mills, St. John’s, and Ruth Foote (Bennie), ON; brother-in-law Bill Wiseman (Phyllis), Upper Gullies, CBS; sister-in-law Rita, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, all who were very important in Graham’s life. He was predeceased by his parents James and Dorothy; brother Alfred Blundon and brother-in-law George Mills. Graham was born February 19th, 1945, son of Dorothy and James Blundon, Bay De Verde. After completing his education at MUN, Graham moved to Deer Lake, where he spent the last 40 years. He served as High School Math Teacher and a School Principal, before moving to the Board Office as a Math Co-ordinator, then Assistant Superintendent, and retired as Superintendent. Graham was dedicated to his church and his Masonic Lodge. He was a tremendous testament to his faith, his profession and his philosophy of life. A man with a big heart, genuine love of people and a dedication to his friends and profession. Those of us fortunate enough to have known or worked with Graham have lost a leader, a wonderful educator, a peacemaker and a friend. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Saturday, March 15th between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 16th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church with Cannon John Meade officiating. Interment will follow at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road. In recognition of his significant commitment to his church, memorial gifts can be made to the St. Michael’s Anglican Church Accessability Fund. Cards will be provided. The family wish to thank the staff of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, for their kind support and treatment during Graham’s stay.
