It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elias Woolridge announce his peaceful passing at Capt. William Jackman Memorial Hospital in Labrador City on Saturday, July 22nd, 2006 at the age of 93 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories three sons: Lorenzo (Mabel), Howley, Elias Jr. (Brenda), Trenton, On, and Cecil (Juanita), Howley; five daughters: Elva MacDonald (Angus), Pasadena, Nellie Blundell (Cecil), Grand Falls - Windsor, Mabel Howell (Blair), Mississauga, On, Margaret Strand (Robert), with whom he resided, Wabush, Lab., and Shirley Bergeron (Dan), Kingston, ON; two sisters: Mary Buffett, Maitland, NS, and Alice Curtis, St. John`s; 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Ida ( nee Feltham) and second wife Bonnie Wheeler Woolridge, parents; Susie and Thomas Woolridge; brothers: Medley and William, sisters: Lavina, Miram, Beatrice and Dulcie; daughter: Mary Jane and sons: Medley Gordon, Frank and Samuel; as well as grandson Trent in 1993. The family will be receiving friends at Howley United Church, Howley on Monday evening and Tuesday from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 26th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Tony Newell officiating. Interment to follow at the United Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Church Cemetery Fund or to the Bay of Islands SPCA.
