It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Cooper announce his passing on Tuesday, August 1st, 2006 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife Doris (nee Welsh); six children: Sylvia (Garry) Crewe, Geraldine (Harvey) St. Croix, Glen (Judy) Cooper, Sharon (Sean) Whelan, Iris Cooper and Perry (Ann Marie) Cooper, all residing in Corner Brook; ten grandchildren: Carolyn, Stephanie, Jason, Aimee, Lindsey, Ryan, Andrew, Hilary, Heather and Justin; one great grandson: Caleb; sister: Greta (Arthur) Critch, Green`s Harbour; brothers-in-law: Rev. Robert Fillier, Selby Howell, Claude Welsh and Jim Crocker; sisters-in-law: Marie Somers (Ed) and Norma Sooley (Hobert); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter: Sherry-Lee; parents: Henry and Ellen Cooper, brother: Ross Cooper; sisters: Audrey Fillier, Lily Howell and Hazel Cooper; sister-in-law: Carrie Crocker. Friends may visit Fillatre`s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 4th, at 2:00 p.m. from Humber United Church, Clarence Street. Rev. Kathy Brett officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
