WHITEHORNE Ronald K. Merchant Navy WWII Veteran Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Whitehorne announce his passing on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Pallative Care Unit at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Alice (nee Purchase), 2 sons: Randy (Colleen), Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Kenneth, Toronto, Ontario, 3 grandsons: Cpl. Craig (Debbie), Petawawa, Ontario, Scott and Bradley both of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, brothers: Cyril, Summerside and Clarence, Stephenville, half-sister Carole Delaney, McGreggor, Ontario and half-brother Charlie Dyke, Corner Brook. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Willis, 1936, mother Bessie, 1996 and grandson Blair Ronald, 1975. Many thanks to the VON nurses and home care staff for their loving care and support. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue Thursday from the hours 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 5th at 1:00 PM from Oakland United Church with Rev. Kathy Brett officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Pallative Care Unit, VON or to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
