ROD (RODERICK) David BLANCHARD Irishtown, NL 1952 - 2006 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rod Blanchard announce his sudden passing, after a brain aneurism, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, September 12th, 2006 at the age of 54 years. He leaves to mourn his living companion Margaret Rabbits and son Andrew; mother Marjorie Blanchard (Art Parsons); sisters: Delia Janes (Dan), Mary Doucette (Danny), Anita Singleton (Gord), Joyce Nilsson (Ron) and Patricia Blanchard (Bob); brother Terry Blanchard; nieces and nephews: Kerry and Karen Janes, Tammy Nunez, Christina Hunt, Jamie Brake, Jodie Singleton, David and Denise Nilsson, Nicole and Chelsey Blanchard; aunt Jessie Barry, as well as many cousins and a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by father David Blanchard (1992) and grandmother May Alexander (2004). Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place from Sacred Heart RC Church in Curling on Friday, September 15th at 10:30 a.m., Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.
