Died on Sunday, 8 October 2006, after a short illness, Rosalie (Fowler) Elliott. Predeceased by her loving husband, David Elliott, she leaves to mourn her brother, Adrian; sister-in-law, Joanne Barber; two nieces, Madeline Fowler and Patricia Hooper; two nephews, Joseph Fowler and Glen Hooper; cousins, Regina and Frank Nolan, and Courtney and Mary Maddigan. For thirty years, Rosalie was as inspiring and much-loved teacher of students of all ages and abilities. She was also a gifted musician and a fine poet. After her retirement from teaching school, she continued to teach music from her home. Rosalie followed the careers of each and every one of her former students with passionate interest and unshakeable belief in their unique capabilities and worth. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, on Tuesday, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at First United Church, West Street, Wednesday, 11 October 2006, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Dr. Wayne Cole officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Corner Brook Rotary Music Festival.
