It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Simms announce his passing on Friday, October 27th, 2006 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 86 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his 10 step-children: Albert (Edith) Anderson, Freeman (Brenda) Anderson, Stanley (Mary) Anderson, Richard (Eileen) Anderson, John Anderson, Linda Anderson (Douglas Harris), Hilda (George) Crant, Annie (Fred) Childs, Louise (Calvin) Billard and Alma (Albert) Ricketts; 22 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; as well as a very large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nina Simms, second wife Mabel Anderson; step daughter: Minnie Sylvia; parents: Charlie and Susannah Simms; sisters: Annie Hann and Dora Strickland; brother: John Simms. Friends may visit St. John the Evangelist Church, Burgeo on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service will take place on Monday, October 30th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Vallis officiating. Interment to follow at the Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre`s Funeral Home, Corner Brook.
