ALMA VIOLA MAJOR Norris Point, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alma Viola Major announce her passing on Wednesday, December 20th, 2006 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 81 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 59 years Wallace Major, resident of the 5th floor WMR Hospital, 4 sons: Victor (Georgie), Norris Point, Lloyd (Joyce), Placentia, Tom (Christine), Alberta and Cleo (Sandra), Alberta; 4 daughters: Mary (Fred) Harding, Corner Brook, Majors Linda (Wilson) Janes, Campbellton, Ella (Grant) Payne, Pasadena and Cynthia (Warren) Roberts, Alberta. 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, sisters: Marjorie Cooper, Rita Rideout, Olga Payne, Ruby (Mitt) Goosney and Isabelle (George) Major, special niece Lucy Hillier, sisters and brothers-in-law: Biney (Joe) Casey, Annie Hartshorn, Marie Young, Willis (Elaine) Major, Jim (Loretta) Major, Terry (Muriel) Major and Audrey (Darren) Fortune. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends may visit the Church of the Good Shepherd, Norris Point on Thursday at 2:00 PM from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 23rd at 2:00 PM with Rev. Canon John Olsson officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
