ALVA VIRGINIA UPWARD-CLARKE Pasadena, NL August 30th, 1918 - December 31st, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alva Clarke announce her passing on Sunday, December 31st, 2006 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 88 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her four children: Helen Thorne (Darryl), St. John’s, Barbara Dumaresque (Stanford), Labrador City, Ruth Upward (Alan O’Doherty), Tottenham, On and Patricia Perry (Terry Manuel), Deer Lake; eight grandchildren: Paula, Roger, Jennifer, Jeremy, Zachary, Ruthann, Jessica and Tracy; eight great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husbands: Alex Upward and William Clarke, and son Ronald Upward. Friends may visit Fillatre`s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. A service of Thanksgiving and Celebration will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd at 2:00 p.m. from the Pentecostal Church in Pasadena, Pastor Nathaniel Osmond officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador or to the charity of ones choice.
