Gerald Francis Shanahan Corner Brook, NL September 6th, 1920 - January 1st, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Shanahan announce his passing on Monday, January 1st, 2007 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, at the age of 86 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Madonna Mary (nee Foley); children: Frank (Carol), BC, Ronnie (Mildred), Massey Drive, Maureen Fleming, St. John’s, Larry (Mary), Ontario, Danny (Georgina), St. John’s, Dianne Hearn (Bob), Corner Brook, Peg Townsend (Robert), NS, Susan Waghorn (Mike), Corner Brook and Tarragh (Cory Kane), Corner Brook; grandchildren: Gerry, Angela, Melissa, Patrick, Eddy, Shawn, Stephen, Michael, David, Mark, Kathleen, Daniel and Liam; great grandchildren: Brendan and Christopher; sister; Helen McGrath, St. John’s, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents: Ronald and Julia, sisters: Eileen, Gertrude, Theresa and Loretta; brothers: Nicolas and Leo. Friends may visit Fillatre`s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. and Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 :00 p.m. The Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, January 5th at 10:30 A.M. from All Hallows church, Humber Road. Fr. Edwin Gale officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers accepted or donations may be made to the Palliative Care unit of WMR Hospital.
