Passed peacefully away at the Labrador Health Centre on January 16th, 2007, Ruth Learning, at the age of 82 years. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Ruby (Al Durno); grand-daughters: Lynn (Richard Manning), Kelly (Todd Winters); great-grandchildren: Stephen, Alexis, Scott and Jackson, and her “special boy” Melvin Learning (Judy), as well as nieces and nephews: Catherine Bird-Heuft, Silas Bird, Marion Pardy, Carol Bird, George Bird, Gary Bird, Jessie Bird and Jim Bird. She was predeceased by husband Ernest Learning; brothers: Hayward and John Bird; sister-in-law Ruth Bird and niece Joan Neil. Family and friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Thursday, January 18th between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, January 19th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Andrews Anglican Church. Due to Ruth’s cremation wishes, interment will follow at a later date in Dove Brook, Labrador.
